National Conference on Lipedema

Introduction
The first national congress dedicated to lipedema stems from a simple observation:
despite a growing number of patients and a booming clinical practice, our scientific understanding of this pathology remains fragmented.
Through their daily commitment to the management of lipedema,
Surgeons face:
- the complexity of the disease
- the diversity of its clinical presentations
- and the current limitations of our knowledge
The volume of patients monitored, the richness of clinical observations, and the many unanswered questions have naturally driven the desire to go further:
to structure, understand, and advance research.
The Congress
This congress is part of this ongoing momentum.
Spearheaded by the France Lipoedema association, its aim is to bring together experts from complementary disciplines:
- surgery
- endocrinology
- lymphology
- angiology
- nutrition
- fundamental research
The objective: to cross-reference perspectives, compare clinical experiences, and foster new hypotheses.
Objectives
Beyond being a simple scientific event, this congress aims to:
- establish a framework for multidisciplinary discussion
- promote collaboration between clinicians and researchers
- highlight data derived from clinical practice
- encourage the development of dedicated research projects
- contribute to the recognition of lipedema as a public health issue
Scientific Direction
Dr. Nicolas Zwillinger (Founder of the France Lipoedème Association), Anaïs Briot, and Florence Tatin (researchers at Inserm) are serving as the medical and scientific directors of the conference, with the goal of bringing together a community of dedicated professionals united by a common objective:
better understand the disease to improve patient care.
